The accident occurred around 3:30 p.m., just outside the BC Ferries foot passenger ticket booth. Witnesses described the scene as chaotic, and the community was left reeling from the news.

A Family in Mourning

Silvana remains in the hospital, sedated and fighting for her life, with extensive injuries from the waist down. Cilneu, a man of deep faith, is struggling to come to terms with the loss of his son and the critical condition of his wife. The family friend who was with them at the time of the accident has been released from the hospital and is recovering. Theresa Morrison, the owner of AJ’s Brooklyn Pizza Joint, where Cilneu works, has been a rock for the family, organizing a GoFundMe campaign to support them during this difficult time.
